Project: Stories from the Borderlands
During the past several years, Jennifer watched exhaustion and burnout overwhelm so many of her colleagues and friends in the immigrant justice movement, including herself. Returning to the movement after a three-year recovery from Covid, Jennifer hopes that sharing stories about courage, healing and connection within the movement, can help others heal and keep fighting in the borderlands.
Jennifer is a talented writer, highly-skilled human-centered designer, an award-winning teacher and coach, and a passionate advocate for healing from generational and individual trauma. She has worked in immigrant rights movement for the past decade as an advocate and organizer. She has served on the San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium and the advisory board for the Borderlands Get Free Fund. She has been invited to teach and speak at conferences, organizations, and universities in the US and Mexico, including two panel appearances at South By Southwest in Austin, TX. In addition to a JD from Stanford, Jennifer holds a BA in English and an MA in Rhetoric from Brigham Young University.
